GYMNASIUM / PLAYGROUND / OPEN AIR THEATRE

The College “Gymkhana” is the Students‟ Council consisting of General Secretary, Ladies‟ Representative, Student Secretaries, Class Representatives and faculty members. The Gymkhana schedules and conducts extra-curricular activities, sports and games, and encourages student participation in them. GSS College is well represented in the University Youth Festivals and sports teams. It also organises Youth Festivals under Rani Channamma University, Belagavi.

GYMNASIUM:

The College has a Multi-speciality Gym where many students can perform weight training. Other accessories required for weight training are also available. An instructor is present to help students use the instruments. Students and staff are encouraged to use this facility. A nominal fee is charged for students.

We are proud that many of our students have played in the Karnataka State and Karnatak University teams in Badminton, Hockey, Football, Netball, Hokey, Handball, Cricket, and Kho-Kho. All the indoor games are played at the mini stadium. It houses a Badminton Court. It also has facilities for Table Tennis and Chess.T

PLAYGROUND:

We believe that intellectual acumen must be accompanied by physical fitness and hence has traditionally supported sports and games. The campus has a large playground covering nearly 8.14 acres. The ground has a turf cricket pitch along with nets and two cement pitches for practice, a kho-kho court, and is suitably marked for hockey and football matches. The eight lane tracks for athletics, basketball court, netball court, handball court, along with mini stadium.

OPEN AIR THEATRE:

A large open-air theatre that can accommodate over 800 students is the central point of cultural activities in the campus. The Society actively promotes and encourages students to participate in elocution and debates, music and dance and drama. All this will help students to develop social and communication skills and lead to well formed and well adjusted personality. Such activities are also conducted at other venues in the campus, namely the K. M. Giri hall, Shri Sevantilal Shah Sabhagruha and Dr. Herekar Hall.
