The orientation programme for the students of PUC I Year was conducted on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September 2021 with the aim of familiarizing the students with the college and its environment. Students were divided into ideally sized groups and two members of the staff were assigned to each group to carry out the task of orientation in spacious classrooms.
The programme started with 'Ice Breakers', where students met their classmates. They then introduced themselves to the entire group, spoke about their hobbies, likes and dislikes. Various games were organized for the amusement of the new entrants into the college. Group Discussions and 'Pick and Speak' contest saw enthusiastic participation from the students with some very new and noteworthy ideas being put forward.
Many students displayed their talents in singing, dancing, mimicry and extempore speaking. Sets of newspapers were provided to the students to make collages from the pictures in them. Most groups came up with evocative montages with meaningful messages relating to current events.
The three-day period was marked by a keen sense of enthusiasm on the part of students as well as teachers who also informed the students of the rules and regulations to be followed and apprised them of the various facilities the college provides. The programme was brought to a successful close with the teachers assuring the students that the Principal, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff would always be there to help and guide them.
